Orlan serves as EY Americas ESG Markets Leader, leading the creation and integration of existing offerings to create a comprehensive ESG go-to-market solution and identifying emerging opportunities in this rapidly evolving market.

He is also the EY Senior Advisory Partner for Johnson & Johnson and Bristol Myers Squibb. As Senior Relationship Partner for Goldman Sachs, he serves on the “Launch With GS” Advisory Council, advising on Goldman’s social justice, DE&I and inclusive capital efforts with diverse technology entrepreneurs and VC fund managers. He is a member of EY’s Global Social Equity Task Force.

Previously, he served as EY Global Account Excellence & Innovation Leader, EY Global Client Services Partner for Johnson & Johnson, and EY Global Markets Leadership Team member. His consulting career spans strategy, operations, transformation and M&A strategy and transactions across healthcare, life sciences, consumer products and technology sectors.

How Orlan is building a better working world

A passionate social entrepreneur, Orlan has launched various social justice and impact ventures in publishing, documentary filmmaking, civil rights, and philanthropy. Orlan has worked with pioneers of the sustainability and human rights movements, including co-authorship of I Am Ecowarrior; producing HBO’s The Out List film; and varied board and public service roles.

In 2014, he was appointed by President Barack Obama to the Global Board of Governors of the United Service Organizations. Orlan also serves on The Trevor Project Board of Directors, providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBT+ youth. He is a member of the Partnership for New York City, Partnership Innovation Council and the Partnership Fund Healthcare Advisory Board.

Orlan co-authored the feature article, The Strategic Side Gig, in Harvard Business Review Magazine and in 2021 was published in HBR’s 10 Must Reads On Career Resilience book.
