In a volatile, dynamic and increasingly digitally connected world, supply chain is the new strategic differentiator for enterprises to win in the marketplace.

Principal, Supply Chain & Operations, Ernst & Young LLP

Supply chain aficionado. A true global citizen and explorer with experience working in over 25 countries. Father and personal tutor/homework helper to two daughters.

Sumit is a principal in the Chicago office and leads the Center for Executive Leadership on the EY Americas Supply Chain & Operations team. He has more than 25 years of consulting experience driving supply chain strategy, end-to-end supply chain excellence, and transformation across consumer and industrial clients.

In addition, Sumit works with COOs and CSCOs “future-proofing” their supply chain design (architecture, operating model) and capabilities through digital levers such as generative AI, cloud platforms, i4.0 technologies and analytics.

How Sumit is building a better working world

“As we have seen, supply chains are prone to massive shocks from geopolitical challenges, a pandemic, changes to global tax laws, buying patterns, and heightened technology adoption and attrition levels. Supply chains also have a critical role in corporate risk and sustainability goals.

As a result, supply chains are now elevated to C-suite and board-level discussions. I believe that supply chains are at their best when they are invisible to consumers and internal stakeholders, bringing them the very best products and services to help them lead fulfilled lives, without any interruptions.

I have worked to leave the world a better place with supply chains leading the charge. How? Through helping supply chain executives focus on more value-added work, deliver innovative products to markets, and decarbonize the environment. In addition, I help our teams through increased diversity and inclusion, where every idea and person is welcome in shaping a better tomorrow.”
