Michael leads Ernst & Young LLP’s Financial Services Risk Management practice in the western US, with a specific focus on regulatory compliance and financial crimes compliance. He has extensive experience in assisting traditional financial services firms, as well as mature and evolving FinTech firms, in assessing and mitigating regulatory risk, enhancing internal controls, and evaluating and pursuing US licensing and chartering options.
Prior to joining EY US, Michael held various positions at a global bank supporting the global corporate and investment banking and global wealth and investment management divisions, including roles within legal, compliance, technology and operations, and front-office business management.
He holds a JD from Golden Gate University School of Law and a BS in Business Administration from California State University, Chico.
