Joe helps private equity firms and their portfolio companies with investment thesis development, commercial diligence and growth strategy. He strongly believes that the most important asset in business is information: The more that is known, the greater the ability to make connections and anticipate outcomes.
Since he joined EY-Parthenon in 2010, he has provided commercial due diligence and market assessments for businesses in multiple industrial sectors, including advanced manufacturing, specialty distribution and business services. He also has applied his engineering knowledge in areas including energy and environmental services. Earlier in his career, he served on an investment team at a mid-market private equity firm.
Joe received a BSE degree with distinction in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Duke University, with additional academic concentrations in Economics and Latin American Studies.
How Joe is building a better working world
“I am passionate about helping industrial and B2B companies reinvent themselves in a rapidly-transforming world, focused on technology enablement and environmental, social and governance (ESG) concerns. In today’s ultra-competitive M&A environment, successful investors combine industry expertise with rigorously developed investment theses. Increasingly, value creation levers must address a greater diversity of stakeholders and impacts to society and the environment. Ultimately, my team and I work to distill acquisition opportunities down to the two or three key variables that will define the success of an investment case and help create value.”
