Enhancing Tourism DX and Regional Revitalization

In Consulting

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, redefining local communities has become an urgent issue in various regions. To support this, EY has made it our mission to develop “data-driven” strategies and ecosystems in business. With this in mind, we develop a framework for collecting and utilizing data, focusing on regional revitalization and tourism industry to promote digital transformation (DX) in tourism, make policy recommendations, and help the formulation of corporate strategies.

A significant impact from external factors such as the changing global scene and the spread of the infectious disease has accelerated the need for DX in tourism. The utilization of data can also allow tourism to play a role as a hub that connects various industries in the region.

In accordance with our mission to support strategy planning and ecosystem formation for data utilization in businesses, EY builds a framework for collecting and utilizing data to support tourism DX, makes policy recommendations, and engages in efforts related to data-driven businesses and corporate support, with a focus on regional revitalization and tourism.

What EY can do for you

  • A data-driven strategy is indispensable for promoting regional revitalization and tourism. However, some regions still face various challenges, such as not having access to fundamental data or not being ready to use the data.
At EY, we support sustainable data-driven management and policymaking by providing execution support, including solutions to promote DX in these regions.

  • EY provides support for policy and strategy development for tourism, including strategies for attracting high-end tourists (the wealthy) through keeping pace with the latest trends via our global network and events. We also promote new forms of tourism that are likely to become key words in the future, such as adventure tourism, sustainable tourism, and universal tourism.

  • In the midst of the indispensable need for data-driven management, there are increasing cases where things cannot be clarified with the data owned by the company alone. Taking macro statistics, economic ripple effects, and other factors into account, EY supports the formulation of data-driven strategies by grasping the latest technology trends and using advanced statistical analysis, aiming to achieve the ideal state and direction to move forward.
