Strong advocate for health and well-being. Deals with Irish Revenue on matters related to the Irish R&D tax credit regime.

Ian is a Tax Partner with EY Ireland and heads the R&D team within the tax department. He focuses on the overall management and quality assurance of Irish R&D tax claims.

As the head of the R&D team, Ian secured the first Irish Revenue pre-approval for a client in the software sector, encompassing a technical review by an industry expert engaged by the Irish Revenue.

He also supports continued learning with R&D, conducting training seminars and workshops on R&D eligibility and claim process on a regular basis. Besides this, he lectures extensively on the R&D regime and published scholarly articles.

Ian earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University College Dublin. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and the Irish Taxation Institute.

"My specialisation in the provision of R&D tax services across large private and public multinational companies and SMEs has helped clients claiming R&D credits to include cash refunds on their qualifying R&D expenditure. I worked on numerous tax planning projects advising on post-acquisition structuring of international operations. With a focus on the Irish 12.5% corporate tax rate, the Irish patent regime, Irish holding company regime and various other domestic tax reliefs, I contribute significantly to building a better working world."
