Leah leads EY Canada's Mobility Tax group and is a Partner within our People Advisory Services practice in Toronto, specializing in cross-border employee and executive taxation.
Leah has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, with over 20 years specializing in taxation in areas that include Global Mobility and expatriate taxation, executive compensation, social security, interpretation of cross-border tax treaties and the cross-border movement of people. She has assisted global companies with complex cross-border employment tax planning, international assignment programs, mobility tax policies, social security planning, and executive moves to/from Canada. Leah has also assisted Canadian headquartered companies and companies with Canadian operations to design tax effective global incentive and equity plans
Additionally, Leah’s has extensive experience applying Canadian and US tax rules as well as income and social tax treaties to minimize taxation in multiple jurisdictions.
Leah’s industry focus is on technology, mining, retail, manufacturing and consumer products
Leah holds her Bachelor of Arts in Chartered Accounting from the University of Waterloo. She also holds her Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations.
Leah loves travelling with her husband and two almost-adult children, as well as running, reading and listening to classical music.
