The second edition of this guide was developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, ProInversión and the Peruvian Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CAPECHI), and is designed to be a tool for Asian investors and entrepreneurs interested in joining the economic growth of Peru. It contains information on the current economic and commercial environment of the country, as well as an extensive analysis of the most important economic sectors (such as mining, energy, agribusiness, etc.) in Mandarin Chinese.
The commercial relationship with China has been on the rise, being the main mining investor in Peru for the last 10 years and the main trading partner. Today China is the main destination for traditional exports of Peru and, at the same time, the main provider of capital goods in the country. It is also important to mention that Peruvian exports to China reached US $ 13.2 billion in 2018, 14% more than in 2017. As of June 2019, a small deceleration of 2% was reported, compared to the same period of the previous year. In the case of imports, these grew 13.5% in 2018; and for this year, they maintain a growth of 6% (as of June 2019).
Peru’s Business and Investment Guide 2019/2020 in Chinese also explores the basic aspects of Peru, such as its geography, production figures, exports and political structure; in addition to the country's economy and its growth potential, future trends, legal, fiscal requirements and figures on the main productive sectors. Peru is one of the most important countries in Latin America. Its diverse characteristics include a variety of climates, a vast territorial expanse, significant natural resources, people with great skills and high academic standards, and a solid economic and industrial background. Peru is growing rapidly and, consequently, there are new and better business opportunities.
