Training & Development

This is the basis on which we build our graduate training and development programme. Our aim is to weave our purpose of Building a Better Working World, and our values through everything we do. Our training & development programme is revaluated and redesigned each year, ensuring we are always incorporating market leading training into our graduates’ journey.

At EY, we focus on providing exceptional experiences, coaching, and learning to accelerate development by consistently applying the 70:20:10 learning model – 70% from experiences; 20% from coaching; 10% from formal learning.

The EY graduate programme begins with a firm wide induction to introduce you to the firm, our values, and our culture. Following this, our graduates begin their journey in Tax with sector-specific learning, followed closely by the start of more technical, on the job training that will prepare you for working with clients. After this, our people are encouraged to continue their personal development through many avenues such as the EY learning management systems, Udemy, EY Badges and Faculty EY.

Our Tax graduate learning experience is designed to be immersive, interactive, practical, and cumulative. All aspects of our learning programme are designed to support the four quadrants of the Tax Competency Framework:

  • People & Teaming

In addition, all EY graduates receive a 'First 100 days programme' upon joining. The first 100 days programme allows you to get to know your fellow EY graduates and meet the EY Talent Development team. We aim to show our new talent the importance of learning and making the most of the opportunities for development at EY, all while supporting you in building a network and getting to know your peer group outside of your service line.

During the first 100 days, new graduates will receive a combination of web based learning modules, podcasts and TedTalks, and in person sessions on topics such as ‘Minding your Mental Health', 'Setting yourself up for Success', 'Driving your Development', Resilience, Time Management and Effective Communication skills.
