The long-standing partner of EY will take over his new role on April 1, 2025, succeeding Andreas Blumer, who, after more than four years as Chairman and 30 years at EY, will be devoting the majority of his time to a major audit client in his final year before retirement.
Zurich, 13 March 2025 – Daniel Gentsch has been appointed Chairman of the auditing and consulting firm EY Switzerland. He will take up the position on April 1, 2025, succeeding Andreas Blumer, who has been in post since January 1, 2021. Commenting on his appointment, the Chairman-designate said: “I look forward to supporting the dedicated management team in my new role and at the same time remaining close to our customers. My focus is on continually investing in innovation and offering our partners and employees the best development opportunities. As Chairman of EY Switzerland, I will ensure that our clients are supported by the right interdisciplinary teams at EY so that they are in a position to actively shape the future.”
The incumbent Chairman, Andreas Blumer, adds: “I firmly believe that the partners of EY Switzerland have made an excellent choice in appointing Daniel Gentsch. Thanks to his many years of experience, as well as his extensive skills and in-depth knowledge of our profession, he is well qualified and ideally suited to this challenge, so I am delighted to be passing the baton on to him.” To ensure a smooth handover, Andreas Blumer will oversee the onboarding of his successor.
