Doru is a Partner with over 20 years of professional experience in Asia, North America, and Europe, specializing in serving global insurers and other financial services clients. He has a diverse background, offering expertise in financial audits, IPOs, CFO advisory, IFRS implementations and conversions, internal controls, and due diligence. Currently, Doru serves as global client service partner for a global P&C/GI insurer and holds the position of Insurance Leader, Assurance in Canada.
Doru spent more than three years with EY Hong Kong where he served as the global and regional client service partner for two prominent insurers. He also led the Asia Pacific FSO Financial Accounting Advisory Services in Hong Kong, focusing on IFRS implementation solutions and collaborating with major clients in the insurance and banking sectors. He also held the position of Asia Pacific FSO Insurance Leader, Assurance.
Doru possesses extensive practical experience in various sectors, including life and health insurance, P&C/GI insurance, and reinsurance. He has a deep understanding of critical areas such as transactions and business combinations, distribution arrangements, investments and liabilities valuations, ESG and emerging technology. He frequently speaks at conferences, contributes to internal and external presentations, and authors papers on insurance-related topics.
Doru has a MS in Investments and BS in Management from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and is a chartered accountant in Canada and the UK.
