EY has today announced a formal collaboration with Imperial College London and the Grantham Institute's Undaunted.

The two-year agreement, signed by EY’s Managing Partner for Sustainability Rob Doepel, brings together the collective expertise, energy, and networks of two organisations committed to tackling climate change and transforming the global economy towards a net zero future.

Undaunted – a partnership between Imperial’s Grantham Institute and The Royal Institution (Ri) – was created to bring businesses, entrepreneurs, policy makers, academics, and the public together to catalyse innovation of all forms to address the causes and effects of climate change.  From its central London base at The Ri, Undaunted is building an ecosystem that engages and supports innovators to implement global change through pioneering, practical solutions.

Alyssa Gilbert, Director of Innovation at Grantham Institute’s Undaunted, said: “Undaunted is delighted to be working closely with EY in our mission to tackle climate change with innovation – from innovative thinking through to creating and scaling up new ideas and inventions. A collaborative approach is essential to our success, and EY can be a key channel for us to understand the challenges that businesses face in real time in achieving global climate objectives.”

The Grantham Institute sits at the heart of Imperial College London's work on climate change and the environment.  It drives discovery, converts innovations into applications, trains future leaders and shares academic knowledge to businesses, industry, and policymakers to help shape their decisions and actions around climate change.

Commenting on the collaboration, Rob Doepel said: “We are thrilled to have formalised our collaboration with Imperial College London and Undaunted. This presents an opportunity to convene expertise and networks from both organisations to accelerate the progress and systemic change that will help the UK and the global economy to tackle the climate crisis.”

“We know that the race to decarbonise global economies will be turbo charged by maximising diverse alliances and partnerships. Undaunted drives forward discovery in this important area, trains future leaders and communicates academic knowledge to businesses, industry, and policymakers to help shape their decisions.”
