Julie has over 20 years of experience working with boards of UK and global businesses – FTSE listed, large PE-backed and private companies. Julie works across disciplines and sectors but has a particular passion for the dynamic consumer market, working with many global consumer brands.

Julie’s EY leadership roles have included being a Board Member on the UK Audit Leadership team, Assurance Leader for Consumer Products and Retail, and Partner Sponsor for Entrepreneur of the Year.

Outside of EY, Julie has been Chair of the ICAEW sector steering group and is Chair and Speaker on a number of industry panels for organisations such as London First and the Audit Quality Forum. She has also held Trustee/ Non-executive roles for not-for-profit organisations.

Julie is ACA qualified with an LLB in European Law, LLM in Competition Law from Glasgow University and a Masters in the Economic Analysis of Law from Hamburg University.

Julie takes on the Leadership of EY’s Centre for Board Matters at a time when business is at the centre of a number of disruptive forces, which not only accelerate structural change but emphasise the desire for businesses to focus on how they are creating long-term value for a range of stakeholders across society.

In this dynamic landscape, the role of Non-Executive Directors evolves at pace and becomes increasingly important in stakeholder engagement and driving long-term sustainable value. Julie will lead the EY UK Centre for Board Matters to provide the forum for debate on evolving issues and to support the board members of today and tomorrow.
