EY has announced the appointment of Kevin Humpherson as a new partner to lead Pensions Investment and the Fiduciary Management Oversight (FMO) proposition within EY’s Pensions Consulting business.

Based in Edinburgh, Kevin will lead a team from across the UK to spearhead growth for pensions schemes as they consider governance, future-state and investment options. As part of his role, he joins EY’s UK Pensions Leadership Team. Kevin joins EY from Deloitte, where he led FMO as part of Deloitte’s Investment Services Team, bringing experience across private sector DB schemes and local government pension schemes.

EY has also recently hired Priya Jassal as a Senior Manager to lead its corporate investment consulting proposition. Priya has over 16 years of experience in the investment space, and will be focused on driving further expansion of EY’s corporate consulting pension franchise. Priya joins EY from Isio, where she advised DB scheme corporates and trustees and led several investment propositions.

These hires follow the recent appointment of Abi Lee and Adam Palaszkiewicz as Senior Consultants in EY’s pensions investment consulting team, who join from First Actuarial and Isio respectively.

Paul Kitson, UK Pensions Consulting Leader at EY, comments: “Investment is a fundamental pillar of advice in pensions consulting, and I know Kevin and Priya will make a huge impact in delivering excellence for our clients.

“The movement of interest rates in 2022 significantly changed the outlook, and for pensions schemes, has meant the investment-side of scheme balance sheets had to be reconsidered. Our expansion of the pensions investment consulting team will continue to bolster EY’s integrated pensions offering, ensuring our clients are supported with trusted advice across the pensions value chain.”

Kevin Humpherson, UK Pensions Investment Partner at EY, comments:It’s an exciting time to join such a talented team, which continues to grow its FMO, corporate and wider investment practice. An independent, multi-disciplinary and integrated pensions offering is essential, and I’m looking forward to supporting EY’s clients across all aspects of investment and governance solutions.”
