Views sustainability reporting requirements as an opportunity for successful long-term business transformation.

Christian Orth is the EY Global Solution Leader for Sustainability Reporting and Assurance at CCaSS, based in Stuttgart, Germany. A primary focus of his work is advising companies on the introduction or conversion to sustainability reporting for the new frameworks of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) climate-related disclosures and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) at an international level. In addition to global operations, Christian heads the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) desk for Europe West and the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting Committee for the EMEIA region within the EY organization. Christian obtained a Ph.D. in Auditing and Corporate Governance from the University of Mannheim, Germany.

With his audit background, Christian contributes to the development of standards for auditing sustainability reporting in Germany and around the world. He is passionate about sustainability reporting becoming a relevant and reliable tool, prepared with the same rigor that is currently required for financial reporting. He strongly supports training initiatives around the world and teaches classes himself, helping young professionals to become game changers in this vital phase of transformation towards a sustainable future.
