With over 25 years of professional experience, Ichiro is EY Japan Financial Services Tax Leader.

In this role, he focuses on advising and assisting international financial services clients, including banks, capital markets and asset management companies. He also serves as EY Japan Tax Market Segment Leader for Financial Services.

Before joining Ernst & Young - Japan - Tax as a Partner, he was the Managing Director responsible for tax in a leading investment bank.

Ichiro has deep knowledge of transfer pricing and associated international tax matters for both inbound and outbound investments, financial transactions and structured financial products.

He has defended clients’ positions in the context of tax audit, resolved economic double taxation through mutual agreement procedures, obtained advance price agreements and designed tax efficient capital structures. He also advised on the implementation of tax policies and governance, including effective transfer price management.

Ichiro received a degree in BBA and Financial Accounting graduated from Hitotsubashi University.

Ichiro assists multinational enterprise clients with managing the global tax risks that arise from cross-border transactions and investments. He facilitates and supports EY financial services clients’ cross-border economic activities, especially when clients are faced with challenges from multiple tax administrations and have difficulties resolving the risk of economic double taxation.
