Divyesh Lapsiwala

Divyesh Lapsiwala is a Partner with EY India's Indirect Tax practice and leads the Mumbai team for technology, media and entertainment, telecommunications (TMT) and financial services (FS). He also leads the insurance practice for Tax. With over 23 years of experience working with clients to solve tax-related challenges, Divyesh has extensive experience across multiple sectors, including financial services, IT/ITES, retail, manufacturing, telecom, media, entertainment, and logistics. His expertise extends to handling restructuring, transformation, technology implementation and optimization projects.

Over the years, he has led several industry advocacy projects to enable industry and regulators to evolve the most acceptable approach to complex technical or procedural matters that arise in the implementation of any law.

A passionate advocate for leveraging technology in tax, Divyesh believes that it is a game-changer and essential for "reimagining the tax function" in the present and future landscape. He actively promotes EY's tax technology solutions and collaborates with clients to develop and execute technology roadmaps tailored to their needs.

Additionally, Divyesh is a frequent speaker at indirect tax conferences and has made several editorial contributions to the field.
