Gaurav leads the Government & Public Sector (GPS) for the India region, which includes Bangladesh as well as Bhutan and Nepal. He is also the GPS leader for Africa, India and Middle-East region. Gaurav leads a team of nearly 2,000 people that advises central and state governments on policy-related issues, particularly around investment promotion, infrastructure, ease of doing business, skill development and technology transformation.
As part of his role, Gaurav actively drives public-private collaboration with international funding organizations that are critical to driving developmental agenda of emerging markets. He has also undertaken significant dialogue with various ministries to bring about substantive reforms in the taxation norms of foreign and multinational companies in India.
With over 20 years of experience, Gaurav was earlier EY’s Technology, Communications & Entertainment leader for India region and has also served as the leader for Tax and Regulatory Services.
Gaurav is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi.
