On Tuesday, 23 July 2024, the Hon'ble Finance Minister - Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 in the Lok Sabha.
In the interim budget, the Hon’ble Finance Minister (FM) has announced strategy to sustain high and more resource-efficient economic growth, along with energy security in terms of availability, accessibility and affordability. The announcements were made for coal gasification scheme, mandatory blending of compressed biogas and financial support for collection of biomass. In the final budget, the Hon’ble FM has stated that they will come out with policy document on appropriate energy transition pathways that balances the imperatives of employment, growth and environmental sustainability.
