    Extended Assurance at EY

    Our Extended Assurance team provide a broad range of business change implementation assistance and business assurance services across the Financial Services industry, delivering insight, problem-solving skills and innovative thinking. We help our clients address business challenges and ensure they are meeting their regulatory responsibilities by problem-solving, reducing risk, enhancing controls and providing independent advice and assurance.

    Technology in Assurance

    We have a clear view of the digital transformation taking place across the Financial Services industry. We lead our clients through this digital journey to retain competitive advantage, keep on top of industry developments and meet the ever increasing stakeholder expectations.

    We have made significant investments in a range of data analytics tools and capabilities including Process Mining, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and Data Analytics. 

    What will you be doing?

    • Working within a team to understand the challenges our clients face and helping them to address these challenges
    • Developing an understanding of Risks and Controls and how the management of these are crucial for our clients
    • Gaining insight into the Financial Services industry, and the regulatory landscape in which our clients operate
    • Are you eligible to apply?

      If you’re in your penultimate year at university, or if you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree, or taking a gap year, this internship is for you. We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

      We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.

    Programme length

    Four-week internship. Please note: Due to UK policies, you must be based in the UK for the entire duration of the programme.

    How’s it structured?

    You'll be completely immersed in the world of work at EY. After a company induction, you’ll start developing an understanding of Extended Assurance and will soon be ready to work alongside graduates on real client projects. If you’re great at your job, you might even be fast-tracked onto a graduate role when you finish university.
