    Cyber Security

We support our clients to understand and manage their cyber security risk, secure their data and systems, detect and manage their threats and vulnerabilities, and embed operational resilience.

As part of the Technology Consulting team, we help organisations tackle their many security challenges, support risk-based decision making and improve data security and cyber defences. We also support clients with reducing costs related to managing security risks, improving their overall cyber security posture, and recovering from cyber incidents.

    Technology in Cyber Security

Organisations increasingly rely on new and disruptive technologies like Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Operational Technology and Robotic Process Automation to help grow and differentiate themselves. We help organisations that lack effective security measures to manage these changes while maintaining the trust of their customers, stakeholders and the marketplace.

Companies have also had to update business continuity in the current climate, to ensure they are fit for purpose in light of increased remote working and the rise in cyber attacks, including phishing and ransomware.

    What will you be doing?

    • Working in UK and Ireland (UK&I) or Financial Services (FS) in at least one of our service areas including Cyber Threat and Risk Management, Technology Resilience, Privacy and Data Protection and more
    • Developing your people and consulting skills
    • Working with our clients on challenging projects
    • Becoming a specialist in your chosen area of expertise
    • Network with colleagues from our European Growth Platform (EGP)
    • Work with leaders in Cyber security across all domains of security, contributing towards innovation-driven service delivery for our clients
    • Are you eligible to apply?

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to have have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

In addition, we're keen to meet people who have a strong interest in Cyber or Information Security. You do not have to have a computing degree to work in Cyber security: threats exist in every field, profession, and industry.

If you have experience in coding, system development, deployment of Cloud infrastructure and can demonstrate extracurricular expertise. If you have an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, or have completed an industrial placement in a topic like Cyber Security or Information Security, or a STEM degree which contains a topic relating to Cyber, Resilience (Disaster Management) or Information Security by the time the programme starts, this is for you (Maths, Physics etc).

Eligibility for Visa Sponsorship: This vacancy is able to offer visa sponsorship if you are unable to secure the right to work in the UK yourself.

We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.

    How’s it structured?

This programme is all about giving you the best experiences and learning opportunities to develop a great career in Cyber Security. After an EY induction, you’ll attend a range of cyber training. We’ll then bring your core consulting skills up to speed and before too long you’ll be working on industry-driven client projects such as our market-leading Third-Party Risk Management services, or projects in other areas including Cyber Strategy and Transformation, Cyber Threat Management, Cyber Resilience, Identity and Access Management, or Privacy and Data Protection.

You’ll have lots of on-the-job training and mentors to guide you through and may even be offered a six-month secondment outside of the Cyber team to learn how another area of our business works. By the end of the programme, you’ll have honed your skills even further, have a good idea of the area or areas you’d like to specialise in and, be a key part of EY’s Cyber Security practice.

Depending on which area you join, you'll get the opportunity to work with diverse clients across different market sectors and geographical locations. In FS, you'll work on projects with our clients in Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance, and Wealth and Asset Management sectors across Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. Joining our UK&I team will give you the opportunity to work with clients across all other markets, including Government and Public Sector, Consumer Products and Retail, and Power and Utilities to name a few.
