    Quantitative Advisory Services

    Our Quantitative Advisory Services (QAS) team works with clients in financial services with regulatory and risk modelling challenges in areas such as market risk and credit risk.

    We work closely with other areas of EY to bring together the range of quantitative modelling and technical skillsets needed to support our clients’ highly specific and complex requirements.

    We offer our clients comprehensive solutions to industry-wide challenges, including IRB, IFRS 9, Stress Testing, FRTB, IBOR Transition and Climate Risk.

    Technology in QAS

    Data is at the heart of what we do, and technology is the driver for solutions we bring to our clients. We use cloud-based high-processing power platforms to develop data extraction and warehousing solutions, which leverage machine learning and advanced analytics techniques. This includes using various programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python, R, Azure ML) and data visualisation tools or reporting tools like Power BI to bring non-technical users along the journey.

    What will you be doing?

    • Working together in a collaborative team environment, where curiosity and questions are encouraged
    • Analysing data to identify trends
    • Developing statistical models to predict things such as credit loss
    • Reviewing and validating models to ensure the accuracy of outputs
    • Performing derivative valuations
    • Translating technical methodologies and findings into digestible information for non-technical audiences
    • Presenting work to stakeholders

      We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an honours degree in Maths, Statistics, Financial Risk, Physics, Economics, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science or similar, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply. Knowledge in SAS, SQL, Python, R or VBA is an added bonus too.

      Eligibility for Visa Sponsorship: This vacancy is able to offer visa sponsorship if you are unable to secure the right to work in the UK yourself.

    Professional qualifications

    Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. You'll also have access to a broad suite of learning resources to develop your consulting and technical skills including our EY Badges programme which offers structured learning leading to accreditation in a range of of subject domains including data visualisation, innovation and blockchain.

    How’s it structured?

    After an EY induction, you'll participate in a QAS Training Week where you’ll gain exposure to risk modelling concepts and learn to code in Python, R and SAS. You’ll then get straight to work on projects with a range of clients. They’ll involve all kinds of business problems so you’ll get the chance to develop both technical analytical skills as well as core consultancy skills.
