    Financial Accounting Advisory Services 

    Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) is part of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Consulting team which is a joint venture with our Finance consulting team. We help CFOs solve the most complex accounting and reporting challenges, and drive a shift to digital finance, sustainable finance and broader finance and treasury transformation whilst leveraging technology.

    Technology in FAAS

    There is a focus in the market to automate processes and move to a more agile business function. Through the use of technology, emerging applications, insights and cloud based solutions, we provide our clients with better granularity of data, improved transparency of costs to drive reduction, and enhanced financial planning and analysis to give CFO’s a greater insight into how to make their busiensses more efficient with improved forecasting.

    What will you be doing?

    • Working within a team to understand the challenges our clients face and helping them to address these challenges
    • Developing a unique understanding of finance and treasury processes, sustainable finance initiatives, accounting and reporting matters, regulations, controls, latest technology innovations in the finance function, and change management
    • Providing advice to CFOs and their teams
    • You'll be supported by an EY mentor and buddy throughout

      We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject (STEM also welcome), have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply. 

      We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.

    Professional qualifications

    CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, an industry recognised qualification. You'll also have access to a broad suite of learning resources to develop your consulting and technical skills including the FAAS Academy, as well as our EY Badges programme which offers structured learning leading to accreditation in a range of of subject domains including data visualisation, innovation and blockchain.

      How’s it structured?

      After an EY induction you will join FAAS, part of CFO Consulting. We will help you develop the skills to decipher how each client problem is different and to find creative and sound ways of solving them. You will work across a range of sectors including Insurance, Banking, Capital Markets and Wealth & Asset Management with FAAS offerings including Compliance (such as IFRS 17, Regulatory Reporting and Basel IV), Cognition, Control, Cost, Sustainable Finance, Treasury and Accounting Policy Advisory and Assurance (APAA). You will make an impact to our clients and help shape futureproof, insights-focused finance functions.

      In the first year you will get the opportunity to study for a CIMA certificate in accounting, finance and business law. Throughout the programme you will also have access to training programmes such as the FAAS Academy, informal training and development resources, plus your team will also be on hand to support. Since no two projects will be the same, we will coach and mentor you in a way that will prepare you for anything.

      By the time you finish, you can expect to be well on your way to becoming a Senior Consultant with the opportunity to build a specialism.
