Assurance

We make sure that businesses are protected from risks that can affect their reputation and performance. As external auditors, we provide confidence that businesses and governments publish true and fair financial information others can rely on - helping to build a better working world.

Technology in Assurance

From implementing digital approaches into our global audit methodology to processing millions of transactions into visual analytics solutions, we're embedding innovation and technology into the way we work.

These technologies include Robotic Process Automation and Process Mining which review our audit client’s population data and provide greater assurance, insights and efficiency.

Throughout this programme, you'll receive structured training to upskill in digital technologies such as data visualisation or design thinking to bring into your audit work.

What will you be doing?

  • Getting to know our clients, their businesses and how they work
  • Testing business controls to ensure they work how they’re supposed to
  • Performing an independent assessment of financial information to ensure financial statements are true and fair
  • Using hybrid working to spend time on client sites, in the office and at home
  • Having a dedicated careers counsellor throughout the programme to help you during busier seasons, development and learning
    • Are you eligible to apply?

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.

    • EY Experience days

Explore more on our application stages.

Please note, for this Assurance Graduate Programme, stage 3 and 4 of the process will be combined into an EY Experience day in one of our UK offices.

This will be a fantastic opportunity for you to meet us in person and experience the EY working environment. The final stage will be incorporated into the day and if you do well, you will receive your outcome within a few working days. If you are not successful this time, it will be a great experience and you will receive feedback to help with future applications.

If for an exceptional reason you cannot attend in person, we may be able to offer you a virtual alternative.

      How’s it structured?

First up, an induction will verse you in all things EY. Before you know it you’ll be working on audits for clients - with lots of help of course!. This includes being your client's main contact and regularly working from their offices (through hybrid working) to strengthen relationships and learn about their businesses.

Along the way, you’ll study and shadow senior colleagues, supported by your own personal careers counsellor who’ll help guide your growth. This kind of exposure to the finance industry, together with working towards your qualifications, will open up many more opportunities within EY and beyond.

The experience you gain will vary depending on the offerings and clients of each EY office location but you'll receive the skills and opportunities to build your own unique career.

Throughout the programme you’ll also be part of the EY graduate community, and you’ll have a buddy to help guide you. They’ll be your first point of call for practical help and guidance. We also provide coaching so you always have access to impartial advice, opportunities and ongoing support.

Starting out in Assurance requires dedication, hard work and flexibility during the busier seasons, but the knowledge and experience you’ll gain will set you on a fulfilling career path.

The blend of college and on-the-job learning has given me a fast-paced and rewarding experience, and there's a lot of  investment to make every one of us feel valued. I've thoroughly enjoyed my first year!
