Give & take: you have to be prepared to invest something extra yourself in order ultimately to have satisfied clients.

René Carrillo

EY Netherlands Partner Financial Services Consulting

Connects people. Pragmatic. Invests in people, builds relationships based on trust. Continuously looks for ways to add value for the client.

René Carrillo advises clients in the financial sector (with a focus on banks) concerning the constantly changing prudential regulations. Is an active member of EY's Dutch and European networks in this field. Helps clients interpret and implement new regulations from a holistic/chain approach. His team serves clients by focusing on all topics that impact the CFO agenda.

In 2007, at age 18, he was given the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience at EY through a dual training program. Is a good example of how not every employee lands via university studies in a place where they are in their element. At EY we are also firm believers that careers can flourish in multiple ways.

“My passion for the banking sector stems from its usefulness and necessity for an economic system. Regulations change all the time, and banks have to keep in step. I advise them in this area. By adding value and ensuring quality, I build relationships based on trust. People and teams are very important to me. I spend a lot of time on that. Give & take: you have to be prepared to invest something extra yourself in order ultimately to have satisfied clients.”

How René is building a better working world

“The banking sector is and will remain important for everything that happens in the economy. It is, however, a sector in need of change and improvement. As a member of the EY team, I help clients head in the right direction. The great thing about my job is that I encounter new situations every day and for every client. I'm constantly confronted with the need to look at things from a fresh perspective, with new ideas, both within the team and for our clients.”
