Jelle Romeijn supports employers in the implementation of their HR agenda and specializes in cross-border workers (international mobility).
He earned his master's degree in tax law and direct tax and has worked at EY since 2003. In addition to his work at EY, he is a member of the faculty at the Expatise Academy in Rotterdam.
“We assist the employer and their cross-border workers from A to Z: from coordinating relocation and immigration to advising on social insurance and taxation. Besides expats, we see a strong rise in the number of short-term business travelers: employees who regularly make business trips abroad. As an employer in another EU Member State, is there an obligation to report their arrival? Or apply for a visa or work permit, for example? Advanced technology allows us to determine this in advance. And very quickly, even as part of the booking process for the trip.”
How Jelle is building a better working world
“Offering value, that's important to me. By combining the best that EY has in-house. And that works, as clearly shown by such a ‘technology solution’ for business travelers. For example, we are now also developing the EY Mobility Pathway, a technology-driven integrated approach to managing a mobility program. Essential aspects are convenience and insights. Whereas technology first assisted people, it's now the other way around. That's nice to see.”
