Welspun Enterprises Limited sold its highway portfolio of six concessions to Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund


EY has successfully advised Welspun Enterprises Limited in the sale of its highway portfolio of six concessions to Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund for an aggregate enterprise value of ~INR 5,853 crore.

EY acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to Welspun.

Welspun Enterprises Limited (WEL), part of the Welspun Group, is an infrastructure development company focusing on Road, Water and Wastewater segments. The Company also has investments in Oil & Gas Exploration. Backed by experienced management and strong parentage, WEL has a proven track record with the execution of water supply projects and over 1,000 km of road projects

The Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund, established in 2019, focuses on acquiring, owning and operating stabilised infrastructure assets across multiple sectors, driving operational value, and delivering a strong cash yield for investors and measurable ESG impact. Since its inception in 2019 with US$1,234m of commitments, the fund has made significant global investments across the power generation, distribution and district energy segments and is now entering the transport sector.


The sector continues to attract foreign capital inflow and consistent interest in yield-generating asset investments. With this transaction, the EY Investment Banking team has successfully advised on closing the first operating HAM portfolio deal by bundling it with a marquee BOT Toll Asset. With this deal, EY team advised on closing/signing of definitive documents for 20 highway projects across five transactions during the last 12 months, aggregating to an Enterprise Value of ~US$ 2,500 m. This achievement re-emphasises EY’s position as the market leader in Infrastructure M&A transactions.
