Sharon van Rooyen holds the positions of Africa leader and South Africa country leader for EY's Forensic & Integrity Services practice, where she drives the strategic direction and implementation of forensic services across East, Southern and West Africa. Her extensive career of over two decades encompasses a broad range of specialties, including fraud risk management, anti-bribery and corruption compliance, regulatory compliance, and forensic investigations. Sharon's expertise has been pivotal in managing complex assignments within Africa and Europe.

Under her leadership, EY’s Africa forensic team has been at the forefront of innovation, leveraging advanced forensic data analytics to drive tech-centric, data-driven assignments that underscore EY’s progressive forensic technology capabilities.

Her wealth of experience is backed by an unwavering commitment to ethical practices and professional service in her field. Sharon has also actively participated in key forensic communities. Her past roles include Vice Chairperson of the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners and board member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in South Africa, reflecting her dedication to the advancement of the industry. Beyond the boardroom, She is a recognised thought leader, frequently called upon to provide her commentary on emerging industry trends and the evolving landscape of fraud and corruption.
