With the market becoming ever more complex, and the adoption of technology focused solutions to drive efficiencies increasing, the need for non-audit services has become increasingly prevalent. In his new role, Ove will be spearheading EY’s market activity across the Channel Islands and supporting the continued growth of EY’s Assurance, Extended Assurance, Technology Risk, Tax and Strategy and Transactions service lines, as well as EY’s Climate Change and Sustainability service offerings, to ensure clients receive fully integrated support to capitalise on the opportunities within the market.
Globally, EY provides services to all of the top 20 global wealth managers and 94% of the Private Equity International’s top 50 private equity firms worldwide. Locally, EY is looking to capitalise on these global connections to bring more opportunities to the islands, promote the Channel Islands as premier destinations for fund and wealth management structuring, and to contribute to the growth of the local financial services industry.
Dan Saunders, EY’s Channel Islands Managing Partner, explained the significance of the role: “Ove's appointment as CI Markets Leader is a testament to his commitment to the firm and our continued success and growth ambitions in the Channel Islands. Ove will play a key role in leading our teams, as we continue to leverage our global network to deliver the highest quality services to our clients. His passion, drive and expertise will be important in driving the Channel Islands practice through our next phase of growth.”
Originally joining EY’s Guernsey office on secondment for two years in 2012, Ove made the permanent move back to Guernsey as an Assurance Partner in 2016. Since returning to Guernsey, Ove has been pivotal to the success EY in the Channel Islands has achieved, showcased with his recent wins and transition of multi-jurisdictional listed fund clients. Ove constantly strives for efficiency and innovation and has been instrumental in EY’s local adoption of transformative changes for implementing technology to better serve clients. Ove has also used his expertise to promote Guernsey as a jurisdiction of choice for investors as a representative at Guernsey Finance’s UK Listed Funds Roadshow.
Ove said of his new role: “Ensuring we deliver exceptional quality service and support our clients is at the forefront of everything we do. I am delighted to be stepping into this new Markets Leader role and working with our teams to fully utilise our global networks and deliver best practice services to our clients and look forward to playing a part in the continued growth and development of the firm.”
