Within the real estate sector, Dick Simonis focuses on transactions for EY's regular clients. Whether they are publicly traded fiscal investment institutions, private investment funds or funds that operate at the international level. Likes to seek new, invigorating ways to serve the client optimally; provides alternative insights at each stage in which customers are faced with decisions.
He studied tax law and Dutch law at Leiden University and joined EY in 2003 after graduation.
The competition in the consultancy market is fierce. I try to make a difference by constantly finding new solutions for clients, providing insights that have not been thought of before. At EY, everything revolves around service; working with the client we form a single team, a team that keeps on top of everything. The market demands a proactive attitude: respond quickly, shift gears quickly, and still deliver the best quality.”
How Dick is building a better working world
“I work within EY's Fiscal Affairs department and focus on everything that has to do with real estate and transactions. This is where every type of tax comes together, so there's tremendous complexity. With a helicopter view of all the taxes that affect real estate, I see my job as the best of all worlds. It makes my work complex and interesting. It's very satisfying to be able to advise customers optimally based on an overall perspective.”
