Simon Phemister

Worked in the public sector for 23 years. Baseball fanatic. Geelong and Bendigo raised, now a Melbourne resident.

Simon is a Partner at Port Jackson Partners Pty Ltd. In his role, Simon works on land use projects that unlock growth, better connect people and fortify sustainable economic development.

Simon has contributed to many major reforms ranging from helping create new policy interventions into family violence through to tax policy which prompted growth in affordable housing and more efficient land use.

Post Simon’s undergraduate study in the discipline of commerce and Asia studies, he travelled to China to further his understanding of economics and Mandarin Chinese. Simon subsequently completed a Master’s in Public Administration from The Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG).

Having progressed from a graduate in Government through to the highest level of leadership, Simon has developed a detailed understanding of how government works.

“I’ve always subscribed to the view that you need to model the behavior that you want to see in others and take every available opportunity to improve your part of the world. Lots of small improvements by many people add up to significant value. And, when the opportunity comes to make a big change, take it.”
