Datuk Anna Teo embarked on her entrepreneurial journey as the Founder and CEO of Hernan Corporation Sdn Bhd in 1996 with the mission to become the leading exporter of delectable durian treats.

Hernan produces a wide range of durian-inspired products, which also includes the premium grade durian, the Musang King. Anna is determined to bring the company towards IR4.0 practices by collaborating and working closely with industrial leaders like OMRON to improve crop cycle yield and productivity. Hernan is also collaborating with the Sindiyan Group to build the world’s largest Musang King plantation upstream value chain through innovation in the agricultural sector.

Hernan is Malaysia’s largest and leading cold chain manufacturer, and a distributor and exporter of Malaysian durians and delectable durian-inspired products. The company has grown from 50 employees in 1996 to 200 employees with a revenue of RM100 million in 2021.

Within its operations, Hernan is focused on adopting circular economy practices and minimizing waste. Some of the initiatives undertaken by Hernan include organizing regular training and awareness campaigns as well as implementing industry best practices across its operations in alignment with Malaysia’s carbon neutral ambition by the year 2050.

 Hernan is currently present in 18 countries and still growing. It aims to launch its initial public offering (IPO) in three years.
