Vassilis is a Partner at EY’s Assurance Services in Greece.
He started his career in audit in 2000. Vassilis has served as Head of the Inspection Unit of the Greek audit regulator for three and a half years, acquiring a holistic perspective of the country’s audit market and regulatory environment.
After returning to EY in 2013, he focused on supporting listed and high-profile accounts, mostly in the oil & gas, energy, transportation, consumer products and hospitality sectors.
Vassilis has 21 years of experience in auditing and assurance, across several projects throughout Southeast Europe, including statutory audits, IFRS and US GAAP audits, IFRS conversion projects, special audits, privatizations, and initial public offerings.
He is qualified as a Chartered Accountant, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Applied Accounting and Auditing.
He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL) and of the Greek Chamber of Finance.
Vassilis is also a member of the technical committee of SOEL. He is a lecturer on International Auditing Standards at the Educational Institute of SOEL (IESOEL), and author of a book on the implementation of International Auditing Standards.
