Effective 1 January 2024, most foreign nationals traveling to Malaysia must submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) pre-arrival form prior to arrival. The following individuals will be exempt from the requirement to submit the MDAC: citizens of Singapore; individuals transiting via Malaysia who do not require immigration clearance in Malaysia; holders of Malaysia Automated Clearance System stickers; holders of diplomatic and official passports; Malaysian permanent residents and Long-Term Pass holders whose passes have been endorsed on their passports; Brunei citizens who hold General Certificates of Identity; holders of the Brunei-Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility; holders of Thailand Border Passes; and Indonesia-Malaysia Cross-Border Pass holders.
