Hungary recently announced increased compensation requirements for EU Blue Card applicants and postponed planned compensation updates based on the Hungarian Standard Classification of Occupations (FEOR) codes of applicants' occupations. Effective 1 January 2026, EU Blue Card applicants will be required to earn a minimum monthly compensation of at least HUF 1,001,047 (approx. EUR 2,500), up from HUF 883,670 (approx. EUR 2,200).
