Hungary announces increased salary thresholds for EU Blue Card applicants, postpones planned salary updates based on occupation codes
Hungary recently announced increased compensation requirements for EU Blue Card applicants and postponed planned compensation updates based on the Hungarian Standard Classification of Occupations (FEOR) codes of applicants' occupations. Effective 1 January 2026, EU Blue Card applicants will be required to earn a minimum monthly compensation of at least HUF 1,001,047 (approx. EUR 2,500), up from HUF 883,670 (approx. EUR 2,200).
