His leadership in developing the global EY organization’s sustainability strategy and transactions community has positioned him at the forefront of the organization’s efforts to embed sustainability into the core of client services. Bernd's commitment to excellence is further reflected in his role in driving strategic transformation programs with a global reach, including significant bank separations, operational carve-outs, and CFO operating model transformations.

Bernd holds an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Düsseldorf University. His Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a testament to his dedication to process improvement and operational excellence.

How Bernd is building a better working world

Since 2022, Bernd volunteers as Co-President of the non-profit association Swiss LGBTI Label which certifies organizations for their LGBTI inclusion efforts at the workplace. Since joining the global EY organization, he also leads the Unity employee network at Ernst & Young AG, acts as a mentor and fosters inclusion at the workplace in his role as member of the DE&I council of EY Switzerland.
