EY advises Kesko on add-on acquisitions of three builders’ merchants in Denmark

Kesko expands in the Danish building and technical trade market by acquiring three builders’ merchants through its subsidiary Davidsen.

On August 14, 2024, it was announced that Kesko will expand its foothold in the Danish building and technical trade market with three add-on acquisitions to subsidiary Davidsen Koncernen A/S. Davidsen was acquired a year ago (in August 2023) as Kesko’s entry to the Danish market.

The acquisitions are Roslev Trælasthandel A/S, Tømmergaarden A/S and CF Petersen & Søn A/S, three builders’ merchants in Denmark with combined net sales totaling around €400 million.

The acquisitions align with Kesko’s strategy to grow the building and technical trade business in Northern Europe, and upon completion Davidsen will become a significant operator in Denmark.

EY provided financial, tax and technology due diligence services to Kesko during the transaction process by deploying multi-discipline advisory teams from Denmark and Finland with a successful track record of working with Kesko and experience in the building materials and wider consumer space.

The completion of the acquisitions is subject to the approval of competition authorities and fulfilment of certain other conditions. The transactions are expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.
