Filip leads the Legal and Regulatory practice for the Financial Sector, Ernst & Young Tax Consultants BV/SRL - Belgium, which he established in 2013. His team consists of more than 30 highly qualified and motivated professionals focusing on financial and regulatory law.

Filip has more than 20 years of experience in financial and regulatory law, advising clients on complex and demanding transformation projects, Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), data privacy, the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2), Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), environmental, social and governance (ESG), Anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions. He regularly participates in academic conferences and publications. 

After obtaining a Master in Law, he started his legal career as an attorney-at-law. In 2006, he became a member of the Financial Law Institute of Ghent University, where he obtained a PhD in Law.
