What is Transaction Diligence?


When corporations, private equity, FinTech or Financial Services clients prepare to do big deals, they need to know there won’t be any surprises. Through analysis of financial, commercial and operational data, our industry-aligned transaction diligence professionals add true value to clients, providing insights to key decision-makers that help them increase value, and reduce the risks and uncertainty inherent in transactions. As a part of this team, you’ll help assess the risks and opportunities, and report on these to our clients.

What could you be doing?

  • Work with a range of EY clients, from entrepreneur-led businesses to the largest global enterprises.

  • Work in project teams, to produce reports summarising the key findings of our financial due diligence.

  • Participate in due diligence engagements related to the acquisition or disposal of businesses by private equity investors or strategic corporate buyers.

  • Communicate with clients or target management to understand deal issues.

  • Help clients achieve the best possible outcome, from initial strategic assessment to implementation and post-integration.

  • Improve client’s negotiating position and accelerate a smooth transaction with minimal disruption.

Your career journey in Transaction Diligence

As a graduate, you’ll be part of our 12-month graduate development program that has been developed for graduates in all service lines, and is focused on connection, learning and celebration.

The program will provide you with the opportunity to network with your peers from other service lines and geographies. Running in parallel to your technical learning, you will develop leadership skills to become a successful graduate, and as you grow as a transformative leader.

As a Transaction Diligence graduate, you’ll take part in:-

  • Local and national lunch and learn session
  • Access to Transaction Diligence Accelerator program

As a vacationer, after our company induction, you’ll start developing an understanding of how our Transaction Diligence teams work and will be ready to work alongside teams on real client projects. You’ll meet other new vacationers from your office.

Your buddy and your counsellor will help you learn your way around the organisation, set your goals and plan your development while you’re here. You'll be well looked after with ongoing learning throughout the Vacationer Program with sessions facilitated by our Learning and Development team, Campus Recruitment team and service line specific training. The Vacationer Program is a great way to gain valuable audit experience, skills and networks to start building your career.
