David works with clients across sectors as a Managing Director at Ernst and Young LLP. He has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, split between roles in private sector consulting and as a diplomat at the US Department of State. He focuses on the nexus of government policies and commercial challenges, and the disruptive opportunities that emerge.
During his career, he has worked with oil and gas, financial services, insurance, and consumer products companies. His projects have focused on strategy, political risk, competitive intelligence and market analysis.
Despite his work in energy, David spends several weeks off the grid each year, pursuing birds, rivers and summits in the world’s remaining wilderness areas.
David holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and International Studies from the American University, Washington, DC, and a master’s degree in Public Policy from Princeton.
How David is building a better working world
David has helped clients in all segments of the oil and gas value chain, to manage the increasing complexities brought about by energy transition issues, challenging market conditions, shifting investor expectations and demands from resource-holding states and other government entities. Through his role with the Geostrategic Business Group, he has worked with clients beyond oil and gas to help translate geopolitical risks into business strategy.
