Mike is a Director in the Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice, focused on UK financial services. He advises banks and other financial institutions on their climate and transition plans.
Until January 2023, Mike was Chief Economist and Director of Analysis at the Climate Change Committee, the UK’s independent statutory climate advisor, where he worked for 15 years.
Mike led the UK Climate Change Committee’s work that recommended the UK net-zero target and the path to get there, both firsts within the G20. He has also advised internationally to other countries considering setting up similar expert Climate Councils.
Mike is Vice Chair of the British Institute of Energy Economists and has sat on various advisory boards and expert panels across industry and academia, including the Green Technical Advisory Group.
