As EY Global Responsible Business Leader, Matt leads on design and implementation of policies and processes that bring to life the principles of responsibility, sustainability and inclusive growth, and fully embeds them in EY culture.
Prior to joining the global Corporate Responsibility team, he spent six years in the Swiss member firm’s Advisory practice, coaching clients through corporate transformation, including advising on inclusive growth strategies and circular economy business modeling.
He’s also a two-time alumnus of not-for-profit projects with impact entrepreneurs, where he helped scale innovative models for the provision of life-enhancing goods and services in low-income communities. This included helping a Ugandan safe water enterprise test and validate alternative business models with the goal of becoming financially self-sustaining.
Matt holds a BS in Business Management and International Studies from Bentley University, a JD in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School and an MBA in Sustainable Business from Business School Lausanne.
How Matthew is building a better working world
“Recognition is growing that it’s business that has the human and financial capital, global reach and market power needed to tackle the biggest social and environmental challenges of our time. And with that, so too are people’s expectations that businesses use their core services and capabilities to do so.
This makes the creation of positive social and environmental impact vital to achieving a lasting and meaningful advantage, and it’s why I work with all parts of the EY organization with the goal of embedding principles of responsibility, sustainability, and inclusive growth more deeply in everything we do.
I believe that living these principles is essential to fulfilling our purpose of building a better working world and strengthening the authenticity of our commitment to driving sustainable inclusive growth. I also believe it is foundational to building the long-term, cross-sector collaboration necessary to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.”
