EY advised the owners of Vigilo in the sale to EG

EY acted as financial advisor to the owners of Vigilo AS, a leading Norwegian student information system, in the sale to EG.

On August 12, 2024, it was announced that EY’s dedicated technology corporate finance team has acted as a financial advisor to the owners of Vigilo AS, which include the founders Frank Vikingstad, Ommund Øvrelid, and Gunder Sønsteby, as well as the current CEO Øystein Viland, in the sale of their shares to the Danish software company EG A/S.

 

Vigilo is a complete administration platform for the education sector. The software covers a broad range of functionalities including student registries, admission and enrollment, dynamic timetabling, communication, and many more. Through years of development, the company has obtained a market-leading position in Norway and is now positioned for international expansion.

 

EG is a Denmark-based vendor of vertical software to more than 32 000 customers across the Nordics. Their solutions are developed by specialists with deep industry and domain knowledge, supporting business-critical and administrative processes. The company, backed by the private equity firm Francisco Partners, has completed 35 acquisitions since 2019.

 

This transaction is further testament to EY’s ability to serve as a “one-stop shop” covering Corporate Finance, legal, financial databook, tax, and tech health check services.
