The tax-related advice must naturally be of the highest quality, but I get the most satisfaction out of teaming. Hearing the client say, ‘we couldn't have done it without you.

“What's the best way to help the client? That's the most important question for me. It's great to tackle that challenge as part of the EY team. Gaining greater tax security in a particular situation, for example. By making arrangements with the tax authorities in advance, or by giving a second opinion. I'm very partisan, thinking from the client's perspective. Their interests come first. Always.”

How Michiel is building a better working world

“The tax-related advice must naturally be of the highest quality, but I get the most satisfaction out of teaming, both with and for customers. I love it when the client says, ‘We did it together, and without your EY team, we wouldn't have achieved the same results.’ That's fantastic. Together we go the extra mile. We dive into the client's world. That also requires an international mindset.”
