Excelerate | From beginner to intermediate Microsoft Excel Workshop

Learning objectives

The overall learning objectives for this workshop will include:

  • Learning the most common Microsoft Excel functions used in data analysis
  • Maintaining large sets of Excel data in lists or tables
  • Building a solid understanding on the basics of Microsoft Excel
  • Establishing foundational knowledge of formula syntax and its functionality
  • Knowing how to format data in an excel sheet using borders, font and cell colours, and conditional formatting
  • Using Images, Shapes and Charts to visualise data
  • Managing Lists and Tables
  • Use of Pivot Tables
  • Comfort with the use of conditional and lookup functions

Who Should Attend?

The workshop will be available to anyone with an interest in establishing a foundational knowledge of Excel. It will cater for individuals who do not use Excel regularly and are not familiar with the full functionality of the application.

Facilitators

Darren Gaffarena

Darren is a Senior within the Business Consulting team who joined EY in 2019 after successfully completing his Master in Accountancy at the University of Malta. Darren is an experienced professional who is also a Certified Public Accountant with experience in internal auditing, having worked on a variety of internal audit engagements spanning across diverse sectors including education, aviation, banking, and hospitality. Darren assists clients by evaluating business process, identifying risks and providing recommendation thereto. Darren also assists clients in Business Process Reengineering engagements. Darren delivers various training sessions relating to finance which include financial statement analysis amongst others.

Emma Forace

Emma is an Assistant within the People Consultancy team at EY and has obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Enterprise Management and Marketing. Emma’s role in assisting clients ensures that training programs are tailored to enhance employee skills and drive performance. Emma’s experience in competency frameworks helps organisations identify key skills and behaviours required for success, while her proficiency in HR matters enables the identification of critical areas for improvement, ensuring that HR practices align with business objectives.
