EY competition offers women a steppingstone for a corporate finance career

Anastasiia Ivanova won the EY NextGen Women competition aimed at talented female students from a variety of backgrounds interested in corporate finance and transactions.

As the winner of the Finnish EY NextGen Women competition (previously known as Corporate Finance Woman of the Year), Ivanova was awarded a traineeship in one of our Finnish EY Strategy & Transactions teams and a 6-month mentoring program. She will also represent Finland in the Global EY NextGen Women competition in London in November 2022.

 

Nine students from four universities in Finland competed in the local competition. During the competition, participants solved two different team case study assignments that required both critical thinking and creative solutions to complex corporate finance challenges.

 

The winner of the competition, Anastasiia Ivanova, is currently studying a Master's degree in accounting at Aalto University. The second place in the competition was won by Hanken School of Economics business administration and management student Tracy Dao and third place by Aalto University applied physics student Yerkezhan Baltasheva.

The aim of the EY NextGen Women competition is to inspire a new generation of talented women to pursue careers in corporate finance. The competition is part of EY's commitment to promote equality and diversity. “We want to offer participants new experiences, the opportunity to expand their professional networks and act as a kick-starter to their careers”, Charpentier continues.
