Risk must be on everyone’s radar for organizations to plan effectively, and financial institutions are no exception. As EY Canada’s Risk Consulting Leader for the Financial Services sector, Simon works with incumbents and disruptors nationwide to assess and mitigate risk in a quickly changing world. In addition to his national leadership role, Simon also leads our Financial Services practice group in Québec.

Working with clients across Canada’s banking, insurance and asset management sectors, Simon is on the front lines of the changing the face of risk, including credit, market, liquidity, operational, compliance, financial crime, technology, data, climate change and more.

Throughout his career, Simon has built an active interest in ways technology and financial services intersect. He contributes to the broader dialogue around FinTech and helps others understand the shifting landscape of financial services. Simon is an advisor to the Holt Accelerator and personally invests in FinTech startups. He’s also president of the advisory committee for Station FinTech Montréal, as well as a board member at both Finance Montréal and the Montréal chapter of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association.

Simon holds a Master’s of Science, Finance, from HEC Montréal. He’s also completed leadership programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard Business School, and London Business School.
