Developing an incentives strategy that is effective, efficient, and consistent, opens up entirely new routes to innovation. Matt is an EY Canada Partner with a rich background in technology and R&D, who is uniquely positioned to support clients of all sizes, across the entire SR&ED claim process.
Matt leads a national team dedicated to guiding technology companies and financial institutions in leveraging government grants and tax incentives, to help accelerate their investments in R&D and business expansion. He is involved with many of our most complex SR&ED claims, for clients of all sizes, from start-ups to some of Canada’s largest claimants. Prior to joining EY, Matt was Vice-President of Technology at a telecommunications company that he co-founded, and took public on the TSX-V exchange. He also brings experience from large corporations, and was a founding Board Member of Canada's Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks, where he has served as a Director and Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee.
Matt has a PhD in Engineering Physics from McMaster University, and a Bachelor of Science in Honours Physics and Mathematics from the Royal Military College of Canada.
