The monthly non-taxable amount used in determining the taxable pension income is amended through Law no. 244/2024, published in the Official Gazette no. 899 of 5 September 2024
The monthly non-taxable amount for determining the taxable pension income increases from RON 2,000 to RON 3,000.
The provisions of Law no. 227/2015 regarding the Fiscal Code, which concern the calculation of income tax on pension income when the latter also has a non-contributory component, are not modified by this amendment.
Applicability and entry into force
This amendment will enter into force on 1 October 2024 and it applies starting with the pension income for October 2024.
