Omar has 20 years of cybersecurity experience focused on critical national infrastructure (CNI) protection.
Omar is an elected voting member of the ISA99/IEC62443 standard committee. He led the CNI protection program at a national level and developed national security standards for several Middle Eastern countries. Omar led the team that developed the cybersecurity framework for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Omar is certified as GICSP, CBCP, GRISC, CERT-IH, and is a SANS Institute ICS mentor. Omar currently leads EY Cybersecurity services for CNI clients across Africa, India and the Middle East.
Omar holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and a corporate innovation diploma from Carnegie Mellon University.
